TravelGuard, a leading provider of travel insurance, recently commissioned a study to determine travel insurance trends, and one single conclusion became crystal clear: vacation rentals are the way to go!
According to Ruf Strategic Solutions, 60% of travelers would consider a vacation rental in the future. This fact shone through a number of statistical discoveries regarding the concerns of travelers when it comes to safeguarding their investments in travel for work or relaxation.
According to the newsletter entry, now archived online, "Topping the list with a response of 40 percent is the fact that renting a vacation home is more affordable than staying at traditional hotels and resorts."
Most interesting is the fact that while only 39% of respondents had even stayed at a villa, almost 60% of the total participants are availing themselves of current information that could influence their vacation travel plans.

Meanwhile, from a separate survey conducted by TripAdvisor, TravelTrade was able to glean similar results. In this study, it can be seen that travelers are looking for villas because they offer affordability, privacy, and access to amenities that feel like "home": full kitchens, privacy, and accommodations.
According to the survey, 43% of respondents expected to be in a vacation villa rental within the year as a result of the above factors, with economy being a chief consideration. 24% had already stayed in a vacation rental home...
