With the theme "Echoes through Time" for Carnival 2009, the Virgin Islands Carnival Committee has taken the road one time with its new web site. The colorful portal provides not only up to date information on this year's Carnival activities, but a collection of articles that highlight the pageantry, music, and culture that bring visitors and islanders from far and wide, each year. This year's activities will take place from April 12-May 2, 2009 at various locations throughout the downtown area (Charlotte Amalie, pronounced "SHAR-lot uh-MAH-lee-ya").

According to a recent St. Thomas Source item, One Recession Don't Stop No Show - preparations are well underway for providing the community and the world with another fine extravaganza. Download the Virgin Islands Carnival schedule and bookmark the official V.I. Carnival web site. Here, you will find a brief history of V.I. Carnival, as well as a way of supporting the Virgin Islands Carnival when you book your travel arrangements, VI Carnival Travel.
NOTE: More happy people in town means that there will be more demand for car rentals, spa and massage services, marine activities, chef and catering services, and inter-island ferries. If you will be coming in April, plan accordingly! Please visit our St. Thomas Special Services page to contact our Concierge and Guest Services Manager to book your extras as soon as possible.
st.croix carnival in my point of view is dead. There's no life. Jouvert starts to late. It Starts when the sun is already up jouver is supose to start before the sun risevand continue several hours after. They also rush the trusks down the road for what reason to start a foodfair that can be holed the day before or the day after. That is nonsence and the village needs more entertainment and through out the week or two of the carnival we need more shows like monarches ect... Take for instance visite Antigua or Trinidad for there carnival or research it online and you will see several examples of wat i am trying to point out..
