Once again, Condé Nast Traveler hosted its annual Traveler Exchange, a fantastic opportunity to spend time with people who happen to be our villa rental partners, from all over the world. Travel agents, wholesalers, and management companies like McLaughlin Anderson Luxury Villas get together and exchange ideas, learn about the latest tech, and even form new alliances.
This year's (9th annual) event was held Feb 5-7 2012 at the Terranea Resort in California. Billed as "quite simply the most important and exclusive travel forum in the world", the confab more than lived up to its intent.
The attendees were specially selected by Condé Nast Traveler's Consumer News Editor Wendy Perrin, on behalf of affluent frequent travelers who collectively book over $30 million in annual travel sales. According to the event's web site, "In addition to private, pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings; agents, suppliers and executives have access to an expanded series of break-out industry sessions on topics including technological innovation, global security, social responsibility and customer service. Privately sponsored events and receptions allow for expanded networking and exclusive access to the industry’s key travel specialists and buyers."
Once again, I was most proud and honored to be among the Top Travel Specialists (more on that later!) and most importantly, among friends!
