What a lovely evening we had on our Sunset Dinner Cruise with New Horizons arranged by our Concierge, Angela St. Hilaire. It started out with a greeting from our captain, Steve, who informed us about what we were to expect once we set sail and also asked that we sign the liability waiver and fitness forms. He instructed us that we would be boarding a “bare-foot” boat and had us remove our shoes and place them in the provided basket before stepping on board the vessel.
Once aboard, Steve introduced the other two members of the crew, Bill and John, and provided us with safety instructions and the location of the life vests and fire extinguishers. The crew made sure everyone was settled with their champagne or choice of beverage and we set sail.
While heading to our destination for an unobstructed view of the sunset, the crew made their way around serving hors d'oeuvres of Tomato & Basil Brochettes and Smoked Salmon or Caviar over cream cheese rounds and met and greeted everyone – tending to all needs. We arrived at our choice location, dropped anchor, and paused to take in the beauty of the sun setting in the horizon before dinner. It was serene and romantic.
Our dinner started with a spicy Caesar Salad tossed with homemade toasted Croutons for appetizer followed by a buffet consisting of fresh Mahi-Mahi, baked chicken breast in a homemade sweet & sour sauce, peel & eat shrimp, classic Tri-Colored Fusilli mixed with grapes and vegetables in a sweet & creamy honey dressing, green beans tossed with crumbled feta cheese, onion, dill & a creamy Italian dressing, along with an assortment of fresh breads and fruits.
Dessert followed shortly after our grand buffet – fudge brownies topped with kiwis & strawberries and a New York-style cheesecake.
After everyone was fed (including the fishes that hovered around the boat), there was still time for conversation, dancing to the smooth music playing in the background, or just some good old R&R... Many would wait for some grand occasion to enjoy an excursion like this one, but it's also the perfect way to end a busy day, hectic week, or a crazy month. The beauty of nature will relax you, and your sweetheart will enchant you!
